From the moment we founded Rei Cosmetics, we knew that giving back to the community would be part of our mission. While makeup may not be a necessity for everyone, we believe that beauty products can uplift lives by allowing people to express their individuality and boost their confidence. The right cosmetic products can even be transformative.
To ensure our products reach those who could benefit the most, we partnered with I Support the Girls, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that provides essential items to women in need. What began as one woman’s initiative from her Maryland home has now become a global movement, with affiliates across the United States and beyond. Through this network, we connected with Sarah, an affiliate in New York City, to make a difference locally.
While I Support the Girls primarily focuses on distributing necessities like bras and menstrual hygiene products to women in shelters and transitional homes, they also recognize the impact beauty products can have. For women preparing to re-enter the workforce or take the next steps in their personal lives, a little confidence can go a long way. With Sarah’s support, we’re thrilled to donate 160 items—including mascaras, eyeliners, eyeshadows, and lipsticks—to the Center for Urban Community Services in East Harlem.
As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to join us in this spirit of giving. Take a cue from Marie Kondo and assess your own beauty collection. Do you have any new, unused products—whether makeup, skincare, or feminine hygiene items—that you could donate? Whether it’s samples, items you no longer need, or products you simply bought too many of, organizations like I Support the Girls will gladly accept them.
Finally, consider making a financial contribution to organizations like I Support the Girls and the Center for Urban Community Services. Much of their support comes from individual donors, and every act of kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference.
