On October 19-20, Rei Cosmetics had the incredible opportunity to host our very first pop-up at Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg! The event was a fantastic way to meet our customers face-to-face, share our passion for Japanese cosmetics, and introduce our carefully curated products to those new to these exceptional brands.
Our pop-up wasn’t just about sharing beauty products; it was about connecting with the vibrant community of artisans and fellow market vendors. Since Rei Cosmetics was founded, we’ve held a deep commitment to the Japanese philosophy of monozukuri—a dedication to craftsmanship and meticulous manufacturing. Artists & Fleas gave us the chance to meet other creators who share this ethos, and we’re thrilled to introduce a few of them here on our blog.
Biquette: Artful, Sustainable Knits
Biquette’s blankets are crafted from high-quality organic cotton and merino wool, designed by artists from around the world. Every blanket carries a story, woven into its design. Knitted locally in one of New York’s last remaining knitting mills, these blankets make a perfect addition to any home or a thoughtful, cozy gift for the holidays.
u r human: Fashion with Purpose
u r human is a lifestyle and fashion brand centered on authenticity, introspection, and individuality. Their mission? To build a community that celebrates people as they are, unapologetically. We couldn’t help but smile at their bold “I’m too honest for Corporate” tee—a sentiment we’ve all likely felt! u r human’s pieces are printed locally in New York, often using upcycled materials, making each piece unique.
Shell Game Jewelry: One-of-a-Kind Ocean-Inspired Jewelry
Shell Game Jewelry handcrafts stunning pieces from seashells collected at Rockaway Beach, ensuring each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Their jewelry makes a unique, statement-making gift for any lover of artisanal craftsmanship, bringing a touch of the ocean into each design.
As we approach the holiday season, we encourage you to consider the story behind the products you choose for yourself and your loved ones. Understanding where and how products are made can add a layer of joy to the experience of gift-giving.
There’s so much more to explore at Artists & Fleas Williamsburg, so if you’re in the area, stop by! Rei Cosmetics will be returning on November 2-3, and we can’t wait to see you there.
